About the role
Join Presbyterian Villages of Michigan (PVM) as a Wellness Coordinator and help enrich the lives of seniors through innovative programs that promote physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and lead engaging wellness programs based on resident interests and needs.
- Create opportunities for lifelong learning, social engagement, and healthy living.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and resident satisfaction, making improvements as needed.
- Lead or coordinate activities such as: Exercise and fitness classes, Nutrition and healthy living workshops, Stress management and relaxation programs, Health fairs and wellness events.
- Coordinate programs such as: Computer and technology classes, Arts and crafts workshops, Book clubs, Bible studies, Educational seminars and guest speakers.
- Plan and facilitate: Birthday celebrations and resident events, Movie, theater, and community outings, Volunteer opportunities, Special events and overnight trips, Community engagement activities.
- Safely transport residents using the Village van or bus.
- Afford residents with transportation to appointments, shopping, banking, and social activities.
- Maintain wellness program records and data management systems.
- Create newsletters, calendars, flyers, brochures, and promotional materials.
- Develop presentations and communications that encourage resident participation.
- Maintain the Fitness Center and conduct orientation sessions for new users.
- Build relationships with local organizations and community partners.
- Collaborate with Village staff to provide comprehensive wellness opportunities for residents.
Qualifications
- Required: Associate's Degree in Wellness, Health Promotion, Recreation Management, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Ideal Candidate Will Have: Strong organizational and event-planning skills, Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, Experience coordinating activities, recreation, wellness, or community programs, Comfort using Microsoft Office, email, presentations, and digital communications, A genuine passion for serving older adults and promoting healthy aging.
- Bonus Qualifications: Experience in senior living, recreation, wellness, community programming, or health promotion, Experience creating newsletters, flyers, calendars, or promotional materials, Experience driving passenger vans or coordinating group outings.
