Wellness Center Associate (Part-Time)

About the role

The Wellness Center Associate at the YMCA of Central Massachusetts is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for members and guests, providing excellent service, and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the Fitness Center.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe and positive atmosphere for all members and guests.
• Greets members and guests with courtesy and provides outstanding service.
• Explains fitness activities and equipment to members and guests.
• Follows opening and closing procedures for the Fitness Center.
• Keeps track of member names and greets them by name.
• Performs equipment orientations.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety of the Fitness Center.
• Reports equipment needing repair to the supervisor.
• Organizes rooms with proper equipment during hourly 'walk-throughs'.
• Replenishes supplies such as towels, water cups, and disinfecting wipes.
• Enforces Wellness Center rules and regulations.
• Attends scheduled staff meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Education in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Health Education, or related field preferred but not required.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications or willingness to obtain them.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Personal Trainer Certification is highly preferred and considered a plus.

Pay

$15.00/hour plus access to YMCA facilities for all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick Leave.

Schedule

Looking to fill the following shifts: Tuesday 10am-2pm, Thursday & Friday 5pm-9pm, Saturday 7:45am-12pm.
