About the role

This role is offered on a full-time, permanent basis. The Welfare & Student Finance Manager (Advice & Guidance Lead) is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality, impartial welfare advice, guidance, and financial support services across the College. The postholder will ensure learners, particularly those who are vulnerable, care-experienced, estranged, or facing financial hardship, can access timely support that promotes participation, achievement, wellbeing, and progression.

You will also line manage a team of Welfare Advisers, supporting their professional growth and contributing to the overall success of the department.

About You

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Welfare & Student Finance Manager to lead the delivery of welfare advice, guidance and financial support services across the College. You will manage a team of Welfare Advisers, oversee support for vulnerable and care-experienced learners, and ensure learners can access the financial, practical and wellbeing support they need to succeed. Working closely with internal and external partners, you will play a key role in removing barriers to learning and improving learner outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Experience of managing student support services
  • Supporting vulnerable learners
  • Working collaboratively with external agencies
  • Knowledge of bursary funding, learner support schemes and safeguarding practices within Further Education is desirable
