PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES
- Serve as program coordinator for the Welding and Fabrication Technology degree program and related programs.
- Assist the Program Director in managing the day-to-day operations of the program and in planning for the program’s future growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Teach classes in the Welding Technology program and related certificate and continuing education programs.
- Aid Program Director in maintaining curricula and implementing curricular revisions as determined necessary through program assessment.
- Advise Welding Technology students during the course selection and registration process.
- Aid Program Director in the continuous assessment of program effectiveness, including but not limited to retention grades, graduation rates, job placement rates, student satisfaction, employer satisfaction and student learning outcome assessment.
- Maintain weekly office hours to perform the day-to-day operations in support of the Welding Technology program and Center operations.
- Monitor program material, supplies, and equipment and maintain program inventory.
- Ensure all laboratory facilities and equipment are in good repair and safe working condition.
- Attend professional development opportunities related to both the industry and to the field of teaching and learning.
- Represent the College at professional meetings and student recruitment events.
- Aid Program Director with building and promoting ongoing corporate training opportunities to meet the needs of industry partners.
- Collaborate with other departmental leaders and the Center Director to ensure related initiatives are coordinated.
- Assist with the hiring and training of adjunct faculty.
- Other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

- Proficient computer skills, including MS-Office suite and LMS software.
- Knowledge of teaching strategies, classroom management and assessment techniques.
EXPERIENCE
- At minimum of three years of experience in the welding industry.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
EDUCATION
- Shall possess a minimum of an associate’s degree.
