Welding Instructor

About the role

The Welding Instructor will work with manufacturers to develop trainings that allow them to meet client specific welding skill needs. They will provide training to clients, some travel required but reimbursed, and provide training and certifications to individuals seeking skills enhancement. The successful candidate will assist with curriculum development and delivery for students enrolled in career skills programs, assist with student pre-testing, interviews and selection, develop lesson plans, instruct students on a day-to-day basis and evaluate student performance, maintain records, perform preventive maintenance on shop equipment, maintain inventory of supplies, work with the MAMC industry advisory council to maintain industry standards, ensure partner and industry satisfaction, lead in developing and implementing appropriate procedures and processes to ensure the latest technologies are available, lead in maintaining a safe and clean facility, assure all safety procedures are followed, maintain familiarity with new and developing manufacturing processes, and assist industrial sector with advanced welding techniques to develop and enhance the region’s industrial capabilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Maintain certifications in GTAW, SMAW, GMAW and other relevant certifications as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in welding, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of welding experience, including experience in industry settings.
• Experience in teaching and training, preferably in a technical or vocational setting.
• Ability to teach a variety of welding techniques and processes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Skills

• Proficiency in GTAW, SMAW, GMAW and other relevant certifications.

Pay

Salary range: $45,000 - $60,000 annually.
