Welding Inspector / NDT Technician - Birmingham & Tuscaloosa, AL

What You'll Do

• Performs visual testing (VT) of structural welds to verify compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
• Conducts nondestructive testing (NDT), including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)
• Performs coating inspections and testing to ensure adherence to applicable industry standards and specifications
• Inspects structural steel and bolted connections for compliance with relevant codes and project requirements
• Follows established procedures, performs accurate calculations and documentation, and maintains effective working relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors
• Prepares detailed daily inspection reports and client documentation
• Operates with moderate supervision

Skills

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework or degree preferred with emphasis in welding, construction, physical sciences or math
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record
• Able to perform heavy lifting up to 50+ lbs
• Able to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold
• Basic computer skills and ability to use related technology and software
• Ability to safely operate aerial lifts and work at heights as required
