Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Technician

Responsibilities
- Perform bolted and welded structural connection reviews on building constructions sites
- Perform fabrication shop inspections
- Perform NDT of welds, structural members, ancillary structures, or various parts and components
- Field witnessing, sample collection and lab testing as needed
- Occasionally assist with other service reviews or testing, as needed
Requirements
- A current American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
- Quality Control (QC) or Quality Assurance (QA) related NDT experience with one or more current ASNT SNT-TC-1A, Level II certification for UT, MT, and/or PT; or relevant NDT training log documentation that would qualify for pursuing examination and certification in these methods
- High School Diploma or GED
- Proficient with commonly used computer programs and phone apps
- Ability to handle physical demands, such as lifting and carrying equipment (up to 50lbs repetitively), regularly wearing specialty Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time, walking on uneven ground frequently, working in various weather conditions including hot and cold environments, and traveling to different locations
- Able to work comfortably and confidently in unique work settings
- Able to work from heights and within confined spaces as required
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, manage workloads, maintain accurate and detailed record-keeping skills
- Effective interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and team members
- Able to understand and adapt to change and react productively to frequent interruptions and changing conditions
- Has a general aptitude for identifying and resolving complex technical problems in the field
- Demonstrates ethical conduct, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring safety and security in all aspects of work
Qualifications
- DOT D1.5 code related fabrication inspection experience preferred, but not required
- Basic construction competencies including ability to determine location from surface features and landmarks by interpretation from surveys, road maps, aerial photos, topographic maps, and geologic maps; understanding construction stakes set by others, and color markings of utility companies; or general knowledge of construction activities, inspection, or testing preferred, but not required
