About the role
The Welding Inspector will inspect products to ensure they meet required specifications using established inspection techniques (NDT, dimensional inspection, etc.).
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a proven working knowledge of various technical/inspection principles.
- Demonstrates the ability to solve basic problems with assistance.
- Recognizes problems in inspection process and reports to appropriate supervisor and/or lead person in a timely manner.
- Undergo metrology training to use and calibrate gauges effectively.
- Undergo training for visual examination of welds, hardness testing, and NDE disciplines.
- Become familiar with computer systems to retrieve relevant work documents.
- Become familiar with manufacturing and assembly drawings, SPs, QPs, and work instructions.
- Review and comprehend blueprints, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to verify correct material and heat number against internal traceability system.
- Exhibits clear understanding of safety policies and procedures.
- Operates overhead crane and other capacity lifting equipment safely.
- Participates/contributes in continuous improvement initiatives and programs.
- Provides informal guidance and support to new team members.
- Embody core values of responsibility, integrity, innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certificate in Welding from a technical school/college.
- Certified as a level II in at least one NDE discipline.
- Requires 2 - 5 years welding and/or inspection experience.
- Authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

- Ability to review and comprehend blueprints, drawings, specifications, or sample parts.

- Operational proficiency with overhead cranes and other capacity lifting equipment.
