Welding Inspector

About the role

The Welding Inspector will inspect products to ensure they meet required specifications using established inspection techniques (NDT, dimensional inspection, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a proven working knowledge of various technical/inspection principles.
• Demonstrates the ability to solve basic problems with assistance.
• Recognizes problems in inspection process and reports to appropriate supervisor and/or lead person in a timely manner.
• Undergo metrology training to use and calibrate gauges effectively.
• Undergo training for visual examination of welds, hardness testing, and NDE disciplines.
• Become familiar with computer systems to retrieve relevant work documents.
• Become familiar with manufacturing and assembly drawings, SPs, QPs, and work instructions.
• Review and comprehend blueprints, drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Ability to verify correct material and heat number against internal traceability system.
• Exhibits clear understanding of safety policies and procedures.
• Operates overhead crane and other capacity lifting equipment safely.
• Participates/contributes in continuous improvement initiatives and programs.
• Provides informal guidance and support to new team members.
• Embody core values of responsibility, integrity, innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certificate in Welding from a technical school/college.
• Certified as a level II in at least one NDE discipline.
• Requires 2 - 5 years welding and/or inspection experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
