Responsibilities

• Analyze and read blueprints and drawings and ensure they meet the desired measurements
• Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment
• Select appropriate materials and welding methods based on requirements
• Learn multiple types of welding and test equipment
• Adhere to safety standards and protocols in the workplace
• Use necessary controls for weld parameter adjustments
• Align components using calipers, tape measures, and other tools as well as jigs, fixtures, and clamps
• Perform visual examination of welds
• Stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods of time
• Troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Manage all equipment maintenance and upkeep

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school preferred
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures preferred
• Experience in using electrical or manual tools preferred
• Basic understanding of manufacturing prints and products
• Basic computer skills
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and great concentration
• Ability to work from general instructions, shop drawings, blueprints, and diagrams
