Welder (Starship Launch Hardware) - Night Shift
for section headings: About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We need to include sections only when there is real specific content.
We have:
- About the role: Could be the introductory paragraph about SpaceX mission and the role? The posting: "SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars." That's about the company, not role. Could be considered "About the role"? Might be okay. But we could also treat that as "About the role" content.
- Responsibilities: list of duties.
- Requirements: Basic Qualifications.
- Qualifications: maybe Preferred Skills And Experience? Could be "Qualifications" or "Skills". The instruction: Use headings for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Skills). So we can have Responsibilities, Requirements (Basic Qualifications), Qualifications (Preferred Skills And Experience), Skills (maybe Additional Requirements? Actually Additional Requirements includes shift, physical, ITAR). Could be "Skills" or "Additional Requirements". We'll decide.
We need to preserve all substantive information, not invent.
We must not include boilerplate: EEO, equal opportunity, navigation, legal, scam-warning, duplicated lines, application instructions. Also remove ITAR requirement? It's substantive (citizenship requirement). Should keep. Also shift info is substantive.
We should not create Pay/Benefits/Schedule sections unless posting actually states them. The posting does not mention pay, benefits, or schedule beyond shift times (which are schedule). Actually schedule is given: shift times. So we can include a Schedule section with shift details. Benefits not mentioned, so omit. Pay not mentioned, omit.
We need to use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. For prose, use
.
We need to preserve all substantive info: responsibilities list, basic qualifications, preferred skills/experience, additional requirements (shift, physical, ITAR). Also maybe "Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral". That's part of additional requirements.
We need to avoid repeating job title as heading. So no heading for "WELDER (STARSHIP LAUNCH HARDWARE) - NIGHT SHIFTS". We'll not include that.
We'll output HTML fragment only.

About the role
SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.
Responsibilities
- Weld using the flux cored arc welding (FCAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) processes, on carbon, stainless steel, and aluminum structural shapes, tubing and piping
- Cut, trim, fit and fabricate weldments to dimensions for building and assembling using standard tools, materials, motions, and practices of the welding trade
- Collaborate with lead welder to ensure that the proper weld procedure, type of material and rod size are accurately assessed for each welding project
- Review engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations where procedural information is unavailable
- Make a continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of experience welding in a fabrication environment with at least one of the following methods: flux cored arc welding (FCAW), or gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW)
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in GTAW welding with one or more of the following materials: SCH 10 stainless steel pipe, SCH 10 carbon steel pipe
- 5+ years of professional experience in FCAW welding with one or more of the following materials: stainless steel, carbon steel
- Previous welding qualifications qualified in accordance with one or more governing codes; AWS D1.1, AWS D1.2, AWS D1.6, AWS D17.1, or ASME Section IX
- Highly proficient in tube/pipe cutting, grinding and fabrication
- Knowledge in DC, GTAW welding techniques, and engineering requirements
- Knowledge in occupational hazards and effective safety precautions of the trade
- Knowledge in arc air procedures and equipment
- Experience in overhead cranes and forklifts
- Use of precision measuring instruments
- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
Additional Requirements
- Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
- Ability to work one of the following shifts: Sunday - Thursday, 6:00pm - 6:30am; Tuesday - Saturday, 6:00pm - 6:30am
- Available to work all required shift hours and be available to work overtime, and weekends, as needed
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs; standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying may be required to perform the functions of this position
- Able to work outdoors, in conditions such as high heat and humidity
- Able to work at heights and confined spaces
- ITAR Requirements: To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C.1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C.1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
We could rename "Additional Requirements" to "Skills"? But we already have Skills maybe not needed. The instruction says we can use Skills heading. But we have Qualifications and Skills could be separate. However we already put preferred skills under Qualifications. Might be okay. We could also create a Skills section for the "Preferred Skills And Experience". But we already used Qualifications for that. The instruction: "Use for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." So we can choose which to include. We have About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Schedule (we haven't added Schedule yet). We also have Additional Requirements (shift, physical, ITAR) maybe could be under Schedule? But schedule is just shift times. Additional requirements also include physical, ITAR. Could be separate section "Requirements" already used for basic qualifications. We could shift additional requirements to a section like "Skills" or "Additional Requirements" but not in the list. The list includes Skills as possible heading. So we could put the preferred skills/experience under Skills, and keep Qualifications for basic qualifications? Actually basic qualifications are more like requirements. The instruction's example includes Requirements and Qualifications separate. So we can treat Requirements as basic qualifications, Qualifications as preferred skills/experience. Then Skills could be additional requirements like shift, physical, ITAR? But Skills heading is for skills, not shift. However we can still use Skills for additional requirements like ability to work shifts, physical, ITAR? Might be a stretch. Better to follow the example: we have About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We'll assign:
- About the role: intro paragraph.
- Responsibilities: list.
- Requirements: basic qualifications.
- Qualifications: preferred skills and experience.
- Skills: additional requirements (shift, physical, ITAR) maybe considered skills? Could also be "Additional Requirements" but not in list. However we can still use Skills heading for those items, as they are abilities/requirements. It's acceptable.
- Schedule: we could put shift times under Schedule, but we already put shift times in Skills. Better to separate: Schedule for shift times, Skills for physical/ITAR etc. But we have shift times also under Skills currently. Let's restructure:
Schedule: shift times (Sunday-Thursday 6pm-6:30am; Tuesday-Saturday 6pm-6:30am; availability for overtime/weekends).
Skills: physical requirements, ability to lift, work outdoors, heights, confined spaces, ITAR, Air Force background check.
Thus we need to split.

We need to ensure we didn't miss any info: The basic qualifications also mention "SCH 10 pipe" after FCAW or GTAW? Actually the line: "1+ years of experience welding in a fabrication environment with at least one of the following methods: flux cored arc welding (FCAW), or gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) SCH 10 pipe". It seems "SCH 10 pipe" is attached to the experience? The original: "1+ years of experience welding in a fabrication environment with at least one of the following methods: flux cored arc welding (FCAW), or gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) SCH 10 pipe". Likely meaning experience with SCH 10 pipe using those methods. We'll preserve as is: include "SCH 10 pipe" in that bullet.
Thus bullet: "1+ years of experience welding in a fabrication environment with at least one of the following methods: flux cored
