Welder (Shop)
Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience operating as a construction/bridge welder.
- Current and valid certification for ¾” and lower required. AWS D1.1 and D1.5 certification preferred, or the practical field knowledge to obtain certificates.
- Knowledge of construction site best practices and safety procedures.
- Must pass pre-employment DOT physical/drug screening.
- Valid drivers license with clean driving record (No major traffic violations, tickets or accidents for the last 7 years.) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate angle grinders and other small tools to prepare parts for welding.
- Read and interpret standard welding notations.
- Select proper materials, measure and cut to specifications.
- Field - Field install welds, including weld pile, bearings, SIP decking and other bridge structural elements.
- Shop – Fabricate and repair buckets, blades, trench boxes, vehicle parts, and specialized tools.
- Select proper fillers for jobs based on previous experience or project instructions.
- Cookordination with field and/or shop for required schedule of repairs.
- Operator welding truck and maintains the materials, tools and equipment on the truck.

Pay
Base hourly range is $20.00-$35.00. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
Schedule
Start time is 6:00 AM. Overtime, nights and weekends may be required.
