Responsibilities

• Welds containers made from low carbon steel or stainless steel using GTAW techniques.
• Helium leak tests welds before exposing them to high vacuum and high-pressure processes.
• Uses tools such as metal shear, band saw, cut-off saw, leak detector, manual mill, grinders, sanding equipment and general shop tools.
• Trains junior level welders in the safe use of these tools.
• Fabricates tooling and equipment as needed for production support and development of new processes.
• Trains junior level welders in these activities.
• Identifies equipment needed for welding area and maintains a safe stock level of consumables.
• Maintains vacuum system for bake out ovens.
• Maintains shop cleanliness by performing tasks such as mopping, dusting, dumping trash, and general housekeeping.
• Provides mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment as needed.
• Lifts up to 50 lbs.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Schedule

Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Pay

Compensation: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Qualifications

This welder is highly proficient in GTAW welding techniques and has experience using tools such as metal shear, band saw, cut-off saw, leak detector, manual mill, grinders, sanding equipment and general shop tools. They are also capable of identifying equipment needed for welding areas and maintaining a safe stock level of consumables. This position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs and supports production by providing mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment as needed.
