Senior Level Welder

About the role

BAPKO Metal, Inc. is headquartered in Orange, CA, and specializes in structural steel, miscellaneous steel, architectural metals, and stairs. Our craftsmanship is featured in various projects, from commercial to healthcare and educational facilities.

Responsibilities

• Weld smaller components (e.g. base plates, stiffener plates, cap plates, fillet welds, railings)
• Grinding and cleaning welds
• Replacing wire in welding machines
• Out of position welding (horizontal and vertical)
• Reading WPS and setting machine accordingly
• Welding larger assemblies
• Reading prints and understanding required welds per shop drawings
• Following all safety rules

Requirements

• Must be proficient in use of carbon arc
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in welding
• Certified unlimited in GMAW, FCAW or FCAW-G, and SMAW
• Certified to weld rebar
• Certified to operate the overhead and/or jib crane and/or forklift
• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Able to lift 40 pounds
• Able to stand, twist, reach, and move around for long periods of time
• Knowledge of operating a grinder

Schedule

Second shift position: Monday - Friday, 1:30pm - 10:30pm
