About the role

The role at Cherokee Millwright involves a full suite of millwrighting services, including installing, setting, aligning, and leveling machinery and equipment, as well as dismantling, refurbishing, reassembling, and moving. Our expertise also includes close tolerance and precision alignment, fabrication, concrete construction, and industrial HVAC solutions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Laying out pieces to be assembled according to blueprints, schematics or work orders.
• Using manual/semi-automatic/automatic welding equipment to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials.
• Positioning pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• Inspecting completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Performing minor maintenance to equipment.
• Observing all standard safety practices, and maintaining and completing all required records.
• Participating in safety committees or initiatives as required.
• Additional skills in other crafts will be necessary to meet our customers' needs.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass structural and 6G pipe weld test.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent; and Two + years of experience with industrial and commercial applications.

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear.
• Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
• Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
• Occasional exposure to high, precarious places.
