Welder / Multi-Craft

About the role

The Mundy Companies is currently hiring a long-term Welder/Multi-Craft position in the La Porte, Texas area, working 4 x 10's days with overtime as needed. The successful candidate will be able to help other crafts, including boilermakers, pipefitters, scaffold builders, insulators, painters, and carpentry.

Responsibilities

Essential job functions include welding together metal components as specified by layout, blueprints, work orders, welding procedures, or oral instructions, using electric arc-welding equipment. The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times and communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

• Welds together metal components such as pipe or metal pipes as specified by layout, blueprints, work orders, welding procedures, or oral instructions, using electric arc-welding equipment

Requirements

• Must be qualified to do manual shielded metal arc-welding (SMAW) and gas tungsten arc-welding (GTAW) in all positions
• May be required to pass certification test(s) in accordance with ASME Section 9, or American Welding Society D1.1
• Must be competent in the use of oxyacetylene cutting
• Must be familiar with welding/cutting safety requirements

Physical Demands

May include working in extreme hot or cold weather conditions, bending, stooping, working in cramped and/or uncomfortable positions, and climbing ladders, catwalks, and scaffolding.

All qualified applicants must possess the ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and other pre-qualifications as required.
