Welder - MSF Aluminum

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components together with brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts and plant equipment.
• Perform welding processes on aluminum and/or steel parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys.
• Pass welding certification tests.
• Perform related tasks such as thermal cutting and grinding.
• Repair broken or cracked parts, fill holes, and increase the size of metal parts.
• Locate and repair cracks in products and equipment.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Operate lathes, drill presses, mills, routers, grinding machines, duplicating and profile machines, brakes, and shears.
• Determine layouts and weld parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Interpret drawings, sketches, and/or preliminary designs to produce weldments with minimal supervision.
• Work may be done without established procedures.
