Welder- Level I
About the role
Join, fabricate and repair metal and other welding material by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating various welding devices.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
- Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness.
- Start up and shut down machines properly.
- Consistently and safely operates machines at or above standards of operation including waste, quality, efficiency and utilization.
- Troubleshoot, identify and correct machine/rack-related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine.
- The ability and flexibility to work in non-welding areas when the situation presents itself.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are required, in accordance with all STW documentation (if STW is not developed for any process within this job, proper training techniques must be followed).
- Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement; promote and sustain any and all CI, 5S and STW activities.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of related experience in welding or a similar field. A valid driver's license may also be required depending on the job location.
Skills
- Strong understanding of welding techniques and processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics.
- Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Hours are typically Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
