About the role
E-ONE manufactures custom and commercial fire trucks, established in 1974 and now employing over 1,000 people. The company focuses on innovation and produces state-of-the-art fire rescue vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Performs advanced welding tasks involving fit-up, weld, and repair metal and other weldable materials using a variety of techniques, specializing in 2G or 3G or 6G welding.
- Certified to weld in all positions (horizontal, vertical, overhead, and fixed 45-degree angle).
- Reads and interprets blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and diagrams to determine appropriate welding processes and sequences.
- Prepares materials and setups, ensuring all welds meet structural and safety standards.
- Inspects completed welds for defects and ensures adherence to codes and industry regulations (such as third-party testing, NDT, AWS, and 100 standards).
- Operates and maintains welding equipment and automated systems.
- May work with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys as required by project specifications.
- Adheres strictly to safety procedures for working in hazardous environments and may assist in training other welders.
Qualifications
- Must be able to pass 2G, 3G or 6G certification within 30 days of hire.
- Proficiency in TIG, MIG, or flux core welding processes.
- Strong understanding of welding codes, metallurgy, and inspection techniques.
- Maintain certification according to AWS certification.
- Able to work independently under minimal supervision and complete complex welding assignments to specifications.
- Must also have the ability to read and understand basic assembly prints, weld symbols and measure dimensions.
Skills
- High school graduate or General Education Diploma.
- Math and blueprint reading skills.
- Strong understanding of welding codes, metallurgy, and inspection techniques.
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and complete complex welding assignments to specifications.
- Must also have the ability to read and understand basic assembly prints, weld symbols and measure dimensions.
