About the role

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is a leading manufacturer of Display Cases, Specialty Products, Refrigeration Systems, Power Systems and Comprehensive Services. DFR is part of the Refrigeration and Food Equipment segment of the Dover Corporation® (NYSE: DOV).

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow written and verbal communication or instruction
  • Read and interpret blueprints and work orders
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
  • Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies using straight edges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment
  • Adapt to rapidly changing situations
  • Identify maintenance needed on equipment and tooling
  • Work at different workstations as production needs require
  • Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
  • Use proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual’s product line or work cell
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

  • Sitting, Walking, Stooping/Twisting, Kneeling, Squatting, Pushing/Pulling, Reaching, Visual Acuity (Near/Far), and Lift/Carry up to 50lbs
  • Standing, Foot Use, and Lift/Carry up to 25lbs
  • Sometimes Sitting, Standing, Walking, Climbing, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Talking, Hearing, and Performing Manual Tasks

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must have a valid OSHA 10-hour construction card
  • Must have a valid OSHA 10-hour welding card

Skills

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic drawings
  • Proficiency with handheld tools and other measuring devices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to follow instructions and work from blueprints and work orders
