Welder I (Bilingual English/Spanish)

About the role

The Welder I position is ideal for individuals with hands-on welding experience who are ready to develop their production and fabrication skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires a higher level of independence, consistency, and production capability than entry-level welding positions.

Responsibilities

• Perform GMAW welding on metal components and fabricated assemblies
• Assist with FCAW-G welding operations as needed
• Read and follow work orders, shop drawings, and basic blueprints
• Prepare materials and components for welding
• Grind and finish welded parts as required
• Absorb and align fabricated assemblies
• Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely
• Maintain quality standards and production efficiency
• Perform visual inspection of welds and identify basic defects
• Maintain clean and organized workstations
• Follow company safety procedures and PPE requirements
• Support production schedules and team objectives

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of welding experience preferred
• Previous manufacturing or fabrication experience required
• Strong understanding of welding safety procedures
• Strong work ethic and team mentality
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Skills

• Ability to perform consistent GMAW welds in 1G and 2F positions
• Basic FCAW-G welding experience in 1G and 2F positions preferred
• Basic understanding of weld penetration and weld quality
• Ability to read tape measures and perform accurate measurements
• Familiarity with fabrication tools and shop equipment
• Basic blueprint reading skills preferred

Schedule

Monday - Thursday | 7:00 AM - 5:45 PM

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly
• Ability to bend, kneel, push, pull, and work in a physically demanding environment
• Ability to work safely around machinery and welding equipment

Work Environment

This position works inside a metal fabrication and manufacturing facility. Employees may be exposed to heat, sparks, dust, noise, and heavy equipment. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
