Welder Fitter
37 hours per week | between 07:00 - 16:30 Monday to Thursday | £18.43 per hour (DOE)
About the role
We're looking for a Welder / Fitter to join our Production team in Blackpool, helping to manufacture and assemble components that keep our vehicles operating at their best. Working as part of a skilled and supportive team, you'll use your fabrication, fitting, and welding expertise to build and assemble components to specification, ensuring every product meets our quality and safety standards.
We're investing in the future of our Blackpool operation and relocating manufacture of our BETA bin lift from Warwick to Blackpool at the end of 2026. During your first three months, training will take place between our Warwick and Blackpool manufacturing locations before returning to Blackpool as the project progresses. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a significant manufacturing expansion and help shape the future of production at our Blackpool site.
Responsibilities
- Welding and fabricating mild steel and stainless steel components using MIG welding techniques
- Interpreting engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions
- Preparing materials and assembling fabricated components and structures
- Carrying out fitting and installation work within the workshop environment
- Inspecting your own work, identifying defects, and ensuring quality standards are maintained
- Supporting a "right first time" approach and helping to prevent faults moving through the production process
- Maintaining a safe, organised work area and following all health and safety procedures
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and supporting continuous improvement activities across the production team
- Working in confined or awkward positions when required and undertaking occasional heavy lifting
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Welder / Fitter, Fabricator Welder, or similar manufacturing role
- Experience with MIG welding and medium to heavy steel fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and build specifications
- Experience assembling and fitting fabricated components
- A good eye for detail and pride in producing high-quality workmanship
- Welding or fabrication qualifications and relevant training
- A flexible approach and willingness to learn new skills
