Welder Fitter

Responsibilities

• Experienced with shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), flux cored arc welding (FCAW), and tungsten inert gas welding (TIG)
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used on civil construction projects
• 4+ years’ experience in welding preferred
• Appropriate pipe certifications
• Familiarity with shop fabrication techniques and strategies
• Experience using a cutting torch
• Must pass a 6G position welding test for carbon steel pipe
• Knowledge of Process Piping Systems/Isometric Drawings
• Comfortable working in the prefabrication shop as well as out in the field

Qualifications

• General knowledge of construction principles/processes required
• Proven commitment to Safety and building relationships in a team setting
• 6G Pipe Certified
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used on construction projects
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Knowledge of aspects of surface preparation, electrode storage, welding machine set up, etc.
• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used on construction projects
• Self-motivated
• Proven commitment to safety
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Ability to work in fast paced work environment with multi trade work activities at the same time
