About the role
This is a hands-on structural welding and fitting role at American Crane & Equipment Corporation (ACECO). You'll spend most of your time laying out, fitting, aligning, and welding large steel components in a manufacturing environment, and be accountable for fit-up accuracy, weld quality, and structural integrity.
Responsibilities
- Lay out, fit, and assemble structural steel components prior to welding
- Align, clamp, and tack components to meet blueprint and tolerance requirements
- Verify dimensions, squareness, and fit-up using measuring tools
- Perform rework (grinding, torching, adjusting) to ensure proper fit before welding
- Perform SMAW (stick), FCAW (flux core), and GTAW (TIG) welding
- Produce quality welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
- Set up and adjust welding equipment for optimal performance
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics
- Fabricate and assemble structural and machine components
- Operate cranes, forklifts, and material handling equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Participate in cross-training and continuous development
Requirements
- Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
- Eligibility to access export-controlled information where applicable
- Willingness to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable laws

- Ability to meet the posted work schedule and required hours

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3+ years of industrial welding and structural fitting experience
- Experience with heavy plate, large weldments, and fabricated assemblies preferred
