WELDER / FABRICATOR

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Works directly with plant manager, shop supervisor, customer, drafter, and peers to produce finished products
• Proficient in modern welding techniques and equipment
• Good working knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel alloys and aluminum
• Problem analysis and resolution
• Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
• Responds effectively to questions and inquiries concerning assembly and welding
• Utilizes knowledge of various machines, welding practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete assembly and welding
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Must be familiar with product assembly and application
• Has working knowledge welding shop operations

• A highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently but also performs well within teams or work groups
• Strong oral communication skills
• Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
• Safety conscious and has good housekeeping practices
• Able to work with minimum supervision and capable of self-checking for completeness and accuracy of work produced

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to stand
• Frequently walks, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaches with hands and arms, talks or hears
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 75 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
