Key Responsibilities
- Install front and rear hi-rail gear assemblies on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks.
- Retrofit commercial vehicles for highway-to-rail operation.
- Fabricate, weld, and assemble mounting brackets, supports, and structural components.
- Install hydraulic pumps, valves, cylinders, and high-pressure hose systems.
- Integrate electrical controls, sensors, safety alarms, and in-cab switches.
- Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Test, troubleshoot, and verify proper operation of completed installations.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of fabrication, welding, truck upfitting, or heavy equipment assembly experience.
- Strong MIG welding and metal fabrication skills.
- Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with rail gear manufacturers such as Harsco, DMF, or Rafna preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
