Overview

A Plant Construction Laborer will play an important role in assembling the metal framework of new buildings or structures and travel across the states Croell, Inc. operates within. Travel is required, including out-of-state assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-construction, construction, and close phases of construction projects.
• Assemble the metal framework of new buildings or structures by fitting together steel girders, pipework, and beams.
• Execute proper safety using harnesses, lifts, scaffolding, safety nets, use of hand signals, etc. (often at heights from elevated platforms).
• Complete facility wiring, circuit testing, and motor repair.
• Operate a variety of saws, air tools, and general hand or power tools.
• Weld and use a cutting torch.
• Make general repairs to facilities as well as troubleshoot issues (hydraulics, pumps, motors).
• Lift heavy objects, maintain, repair, and clean equipment.
• Perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive.

Requirements

• Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
• Ability to climb ladders and perform work on buildings of all heights.
• Basic maintenance skills.
• Fabrication skills (i.e., welding and electrical).
• Experience and knowledge of general construction and operating equipment.
• Must use personal protective equipment.
• Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.
• Positive attitude to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.
• Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.
• Overnight travel is standard during peak season.

• Operate hand and foot controls.
• Simple and firm grasping, pinching.
• Ability to lift, lower, and carry over 50 pounds.

Pay

$25 - $30/hr (based on experience and qualifications).

Schedule

Full-time, seasonal, with travel and overtime.
