About the role
A Plant Construction Laborer will play an important role in assembling the metal framework of new buildings or structures and travel across the states Croell, Inc. operates within. This is a full-time, seasonal position with required travel and overtime.
Responsibilities
- Complete facility wiring, circuit testing, and motor repair.
- Assist with pre-construction, construction, and close phases of construction projects.
- Assemble the metal framework of new buildings or structures by fitting together steel girders, pipework, and beams.
- Operate a variety of saws, air tools, and general hand or power tools.
- Weld and use a cutting torch.
- Make general repairs to facilities as well as troubleshoot issues (hydraulics, pumps, motors).
- Lift heavy objects, maintain, repair, and clean equipment.
- Execute proper safety using harnesses, lifts, scaffolding, safety nets, and hand signals (construction may often be carried out at heights from elevated platforms).
- Perform duties outside the normal scope of work as this job description is non-exhaustive.
Qualifications
- Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
- Ability to climb ladders and perform work on buildings of all heights.
- Basic maintenance skills.
- Fabrication skills (i.e., welding and electrical).
- Experience and knowledge of general construction and operating equipment.
Work Environment
- Personal protective equipment is required.
- Dependability and reliability by showing up to scheduled shifts on time and being prepared for work.
- A positive attitude is critical to ensure productive working relationships with co-workers and management.
- Continuous exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, noise, dusty conditions, and working outdoors.
- Overnight travel is standard during peak season.

- Operate hand and foot controls.
- Simple and firm grasping and pinching.
- Ability to lift, lower, and carry over 50 pounds.
