About the role
Bridge Brothers is seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our growing fabrication team. This is a hands-on shop role responsible for fitting, welding, assembling, and finishing structural steel components while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and craftsmanship. We welcome individuals with experience in structural steel, heavy fabrication, industrial manufacturing, bridge fabrication, or custom metal fabrication who enjoy building quality products in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform welding using FCAW, SMAW, MIG, or other approved welding processes.
- Fit, fabricate, assemble, and weld structural steel components from shop drawings and work instructions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and project specifications.
- Perform grinding, fitting, layout, material preparation, and weld cleanup as needed.
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated assemblies for quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment as required.
- Work closely with fabrication, quality, and production teams to meet project schedules.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and a clean, organized work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain proper PPE at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a welder, fabricator, fitter, or in heavy steel manufacturing.
- Experience with FCAW, SMAW, MIG, or similar welding processes.
- Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication documents.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented shop environment.
- AWS certifications are a plus but not required.
- Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other fabrication equipment is a plus.
Work Environment
- Indoor fabrication shop with occasional outdoor work.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and material handling.
- Ability to safely lift up to 55 pounds.
