About the role
Aagard is seeking a skilled Welder to join our dynamic team in Alexandria, MN. This position offers a competitive salary range of $24.00 - $29.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and/or TIG welding, cutting, grinding, and finishing tasks to meet engineering specifications.
- Maintain consistent quality standards by following established processes and verifying finished work.
- Inspect and test completed welds to confirm adherence to dimensional and quality requirements.
- Handle and move materials or parts using forklifts, overhead cranes, welding tables, or other approved methods.
- Accurately record data in the ERP system to capture part movement and associated costs.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace to promote safe operations.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to completing parts on time, supporting project success and exceeding customer expectations.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and report any issues promptly.
- Assist in the training and development of other team members to enhance overall team capability.
- Identify and recommend updated manufacturing methods to increase productivity and reduce costs, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with team members to implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, Welding education/certificate and/or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- MIG and/or TIG welding experience required.
- Ability to read and understand the proper use of measuring instruments, CAD drawings, and blueprints.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift safely.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Basic shop math skills as rounding, positive/negative numbers, metric system.
- Experience or training with computers and ability to learn and use Aagard specific software.
- Ability to climb in overhead structures, to work beneath machines and in close quarters.
- Ability to walk or stand up to 100 percent of the time.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or climb.
Qualifications
