Select equipment, plan layouts, interpret blueprints and specifications, and assist pipefitters with installation and fabrication as needed. Maintain a clean, safe work area and comply with all company, client, and site safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Weld industrial piping using GTAW (TIG) and SMAW (Stick) processes in 2G, 4G, and 6G positions.
- Weld Schedule 40, 80, and 160 pipe in carbon steel, stainless steel, and chrome alloys.
- Select equipment and plan layouts, assembly methods, and welding procedures.
- Interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and welding procedures.
- Lay out, fit, align, assemble, and weld piping components; perform tack welding and final welds.
- Conduct pipe repairs, modifications, and replacements on industrial systems.
- Assist pipefitters with installation, fabrication, and material preparation when not actively welding.
- Inspect completed work for compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
- Identify required equipment, materials, and welding processes for assigned tasks.
- Recognize and address safety hazards before beginning work.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
