Welder

Job Responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and install weld connections and fittings necessary to repair, relocate, or extend gas distribution facilities.
• Ensure safety, quality, and reliability of work performed.
• Respond to emergency welding situations.
• Design, fabricate, test, paint and weld all meter units.
• Construct and test Bilco valve and regulator pits.
• Design, fabricate, or modify new equipment.
• Perform welding duties for other departments.
• Maintain various equipment.
• Perform welding functions at the Liquid Natural Gas plants and gate stations.
• Facilitate, and/or act as liaison with contractors, construction crews, municipal personnel and customers.
• Attend and participate in safety and training meetings.
• Operate and maintain test equipment.
• Repair and maintain tools and equipment.
• Accurately complete reports, paperwork, and electronic work orders.
• Participate in outage restoration.
• Assist in repairs of outside damaged Company natural gas facilities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Pursuant to Letter Agreement 2: Successfully attain required welding Operator Qualification(s) within four (4) calendar months from the first date of Initial Welding Class.
• Pass three separate welds drawn from our welding standards, including visual and radiographic testing using API 1104 Section 6.4 and 9.3.
• Demonstrate ability to perform physical functions of the position through a Physical Capacity Evaluation.
