Job Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and install weld connections and fittings necessary to repair, relocate, or extend gas distribution facilities.
- Ensure safety, quality, and reliability of work performed.
- Respond to emergency welding situations.
- Design, fabricate, test, paint and weld all meter units.
- Construct and test Bilco valve and regulator pits.
- Design, fabricate, or modify new equipment.
- Perform welding duties for other departments.
- Maintain various equipment.
- Perform welding functions at the Liquid Natural Gas plants and gate stations.
- Facilitate, and/or act as liaison with contractors, construction crews, municipal personnel and customers.
- Attend and participate in safety and training meetings.
- Operate and maintain test equipment.
- Repair and maintain tools and equipment.
- Accurately complete reports, paperwork, and electronic work orders.
- Participate in outage restoration.
- Assist in repairs of outside damaged Company natural gas facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Pursuant to Letter Agreement 2: Successfully attain required welding Operator Qualification(s) within four (4) calendar months from the first date of Initial Welding Class.
- Pass three separate welds drawn from our welding standards, including visual and radiographic testing using API 1104 Section 6.4 and 9.3.
- Demonstrate ability to perform physical functions of the position through a Physical Capacity Evaluation.
