Welder

3rd Shift position (Sunday–Thursday, 10:30 pm–7 am). Overtime required when necessary.

About the role

A Welder at Bastian Automation produces weldments for material-handling equipment projects. The primary focus is welding and fitting; secondary duties include fabrication, assembly, painting, and general repair/maintenance of shop equipment. All work must meet tolerances and dimensions specified on individual prints. This is a Welder I role requiring 1–2 years of welding/fitting experience.

Responsibilities

• Build high-quality welded parts from blueprints with a low rejection rate (guidance provided).
• Maintain tolerances detailed on blueprints.
• Produce parts from sheet metal, plate, bar stock, and aluminum using sketches and drawings (guidance provided).
• Keep workspace neat and organized.
• Demonstrate mutual respect for coworkers and maintain a positive attitude.
• Arrive on time every scheduled workday.
• Follow safety protocols per Job Safety Analysis (JSA).

Requirements

• Relevant welding experience (MIG welding preferred).
• Positive attitude and ability to handle tense situations.
• Team player who can take direction.
• General knowledge of fabrication equipment (horizontal saws, lathes, mills, drill presses).
• Onsite weld test given prior to employment to establish skill set.
• Minimum: High School diploma or GED.
