Responsibilities
- Performs repair and maintenance assignments for a metal recycling shredder and other industrial equipment.
- Welds various steel components with ARC and MIG welding equipment.
- Cuts, trims, fits and fabricates metal components to fit specific dimensions.
- Performs related work such as flame cutting, bending, forming, beveling, notching of metal and plastic parts.
- Maintains accurate records of all work performed.
- Works from prints, drawings, and verbal instructions.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; graduation from a trade school preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in welding processes such as MIG, stick, and torch welding on a variety of materials.
- Recycling industry experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of welding fabrication tools and techniques.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local job site health and safety rules, regulations, and best practices; understanding of potential job hazards.
- Ability to safely work at varying heights, in tight quarters, and varying positions.
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
