Welder

This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

About the role

The Welder is responsible for performing setup on all entry-level welding components that range from similar to dissimilar metals and alloys requiring a high degree of skill and welding technique or involving a considerable number of parts and/or smaller, more complicated weldments where alignment, dimensions, and weld quality must conform to strict quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy with alignment, dimensions, materials, number of components, correct corresponding machine order, and general inspection requirements.
• Setup weldments per blueprint specifications.
• MIG weld to blueprint specifications.
• Perform TIG, Arc, Stud welding, and torch utilization.
• Properly setup welding machines to obtain proper welding penetration.
• Clean welds to check for imperfections.
• Ensure proper finish squareness.
• Interpret work orders, blueprints, and bills of material.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

• One-year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Basic personal computer skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.

General supervision: routine duties are performed with minimal supervision. Work is reviewed upon completion.
