Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, join, and/or repair equipment, fixtures and various types of metal objects and structures using MIG, TIG, Inner shield, and Flux-cored Arc Welding (Dual shield) techniques
- Determine layout of weld parts according to drawings and company/customer requirements
- Weld according to Oshkosh AeroTech specifications
- Apply specialized skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment in area of expertise
- Execute welds in all positions including from underneath to the side, in a variety of shapes such as in a tube, and more
- Assist during welding of components in areas of expertise
- Assist with design and set-up of work centers
- Troubleshoot problems, identifies, and communicates design discrepancies
- Complete required weld documentation including line check sheets, and material movement paperwork
- Move weldment to the next process verifying it meets Oshkosh AeroTech specifications
- Use material handling equipment to move parts, components, and weldments from one work or storage area to another as required
- Perform all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area
- Practice good housekeeping in work area
- Responsible for understanding and following all Hazardous Waste Management responsibilities
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Technical / vocational / or military training or related experience
- Two (2) or more years weld experience with at least one (1) years of experience in a similar environment
Qualifications
- Ability to work productively and cohesively in a diverse and multicultural environment
Skills
- Appropriate welding certifications, capable of meeting AWS D1.1 requirements
- Problem solving ability
- Crane and jib certification
- Appropriate moving vehicle certifications
