Responsibilities

• Perform GTAW welding to assemble containers from low carbon steel or stainless steel.
• Ensure welds are helium leak tested before exposure to high vacuum and high‑pressure processes.
• Operate metal shear, band saw, cut off saw, leak detector, manual mill, grinders, sanding equipment and general shop tools.
• Advise and train junior welders in safe tool use.
• Fabricate tooling and equipment for production support and new process development.
• Maintain adequate stock of welding consumables.
• Provide mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment to support production.
• Maintain vacuum system for bake‑out ovens.
• Perform shop housekeeping (mopping, dusting, trash removal, general cleaning).

Requirements

• Proficiency in GTAW welding techniques.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
