Welder
About the role
This position is for the 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM. The MTMS Welder 1 performs basic welding tasks in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols within the steel and concrete lines of the VEH Value Stream at METTLER TOLEDO’s Masstron Producing Organization (MTMS), which designs, develops, and produces products within the Vehicle and Heavy Capacity product families.
Responsibilities
- Layout, fit, and weld materials using support tools such as production orders, standard work, blueprints, and other documents related to Engineering/Customer specifications.
- Accurately enter data into the MRP (e.g., SAP) system and ensure inventory is accurately stated.
- Maintain accurate records such as production orders, data collection, and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) sheets.
- Set up and maintain all welding equipment and tools used in the department.
- Maintain stock control, pull items for orders, work in other departments, and complete other related duties as required to fulfill customer orders.
- Perform daily activities safely and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Actively participate in entry-level 5S and Lean initiatives.
- Safely operate fork trucks and cranes.
- Maintain quality throughout the weld process.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and increase efficiency.
- Attend training sessions to develop skills and knowledge in welding practices.
- Other duties may be assigned.
