About the role
This position is responsible for adding value in the process flow by accurately assembling various components and/or sub-assemblies into specified fixturing and joining by welding or repairing defective welds.
Responsibilities
- Maintain all safety rules and policies established by the company.
- Keep the workspace and plant orderly and maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Pick and place components or subassemblies into proper fixturing and join them using GMAW (Gas-Metal-Arc Welding).
- Set up welding equipment, including changing gas.
- Use product and process knowledge to identify out-of-conformance situations and promptly alert the supervisor or Quality Auditor.
- Rotate through different production teams as needed to meet production schedules and company goals.
Experience and background
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Physical demands
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing.
- May need to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Works around moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and conveyor roller lines.
- May work in outside weather conditions in all seasons.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- May be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet conditions.
- Personal protective equipment provided (contingent on position): work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut-resistant sleeves, and seasonal gear.
- Additional required items (not provided): steel-toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards.
