About the role
The Welder is responsible for adding value in the process flow by accurately assembling components and/or sub-assemblies into specified fixturing and joining them by welding or repairing defective welds.
Responsibilities
- Observe all safety rules and policies maintained by the company.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and plant.
- Pick and place components or sub-assemblies into proper fixturing and join by GMAW (Gas-Metal-Arc Welding).
- Use product and process knowledge to identify out-of-conformance situations and alert supervisor or Quality Auditor.
- Rotate into different production teams as needed to meet production schedules and company goals.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices at all times.
- Set up welding equipment, including changing gas.

Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Very active position requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing throughout the day.
- May lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Works around moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and conveyor roller lines.
- May work in outside weather conditions in all seasons.
- Noise level is usually moderate to loud.
- Exposure to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work.
- Personal protective equipment provided: work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut-resistant sleeves, and seasonal gear.
- Steel-toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards are required but not provided.
Schedule
This is a full-time hourly position. Hours and days are determined by production needs or the General Manager.
