About the role
The welder is responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal components and structures using a variety of welding techniques.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm (hours could vary).
Responsibilities
- Knowledge and use of 5 and 6 axis welding robots (coordinated motion is a plus)
- Familiarity with use of multiple GMAW profiles
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Correctly fixture and locate parts for robotic welding
- Operate machines to weld components together
- Inspect parts according to blueprints
- Use of calipers, micrometers, measuring fixtures, and gauges
- Maintain expected production rate numbers
- Perform changeovers and hand weld repairs as needed
- Perform welding material changeovers and general fixture maintenance and repair
- Locate and run job programs, make program changes as needed
- Troubleshoot robotic welding cells including I/O logic and identify most likely points of failure
- Work in accordance with documented Quality System to ensure products and services meet customer’s specified requirements
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area using the 5S process
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Perform other reasonable work-related tasks as assigned by management
- May be required to work different shifts, hours, overtime, and weekends if needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years welding experience preferred
- 1-3 years experience in robotic welding and setup preferred
- AWS certification preferred but not mandatory
