Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
• Layouts, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
• Makes welds: Fluxcore, MIG, Stick, and some TIG.
• Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
• Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
• Reads blueprints.
• Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
• Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.
• Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.

Requirements

• Educational requirement: High school diploma or GED; 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead, as required. Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work. Must be able to see details at close range. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
• Skills and abilities: Thorough understanding of machines and tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair. Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints. Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms. Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments. Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Professional, outgoing manner. Detail-oriented and works effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines. Ability to work independently and productively with minimum supervision; work well under pressure; able to multitask manage multiple projects. Able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays. Use of safety glasses, steel toed shoes, and other job-specific PPE required. Minimum two to three years trade experience. Reliable transportation.
