About the role
This is a hands-on welding and fabrication position for someone who enjoys building things and takes pride in quality work. You'll use MIG, TIG, and Stick welding while working with a variety of metals to fabricate custom equipment and components. This isn't a production-line welding job—our welders work from drawings, take measurements, cut and form material, and help build products from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
- Fabricate metal components and assemblies from drawings and measurements
- Measure, cut, fit, form, and weld material to required specifications
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and dimensions
- Perform material take-offs and determine appropriate sizes, thicknesses, and metal types
- Operate fabrication tools and equipment such as grinders, plasma cutters, bandsaws, shears, rollers, and press brakes
- Check measurements throughout the fabrication process to ensure accuracy
- Work with other team members to safely move and position materials and finished products
- Follow established safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Operate a forklift as needed (training can be provided)
Requirements
- Welding experience required
- Experience with MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding; experience with multiple processes is strongly preferred
- Interest and experience in metal fabrication, not just welding
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Basic math skills, including fractions
- Ability to read and work from drawings
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to figure out how to get the job done
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent walking, bending, and squatting
- Ability to work in both hot and cold shop environments
- Ability to safely wear required PPE, including welding helmet, safety glasses, hearing protection, and protective gloves
