About the role
Fortis Security Products designs and manufactures top-of-the-line security solutions for banks, pharmacies, and businesses nationwide. We specialize in innovative drive-up systems, secure transaction equipment, high-quality safes, and custom-built components. Fortis is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Welder to join their dedicated 2nd shift team.
Responsibilities
- Interpret blueprints and specifications to guide welding operations.
- Prepare and clean metal surfaces for welding.
- Select and use appropriate welding equipment and consumables.
- Inspect welds for quality and structural integrity.
- Maintain and adjust welding equipment as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols and wear required PPE.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant welding experience OR completion of a welding apprenticeship.
- Strong safety awareness and work ethic.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be located within a commutable distance to Greendale, IN
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship now or in the future

Schedule
- 1st Shift: 4 10's: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM (occasional overtime)
- 2nd Shift: 4:45 PM–3:15 AM
Work Environment
- Workshop setting with moderate to loud noise levels.
- Potential exposure to hazards such as sharp objects and moving equipment.
