Welder

Responsibilities

• Welding materials together using SMAW (shielded metal arc welding), GMAW (gas metal arc welding), FCAW (flux-cored arc welding) & GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding)
• Basic fitting experience/knowledge
• Knowledge of raw materials and understands MTR’s and electrode classifications
• Gouging processes (air carbon arc, plasma arc, oxy-fuel)
• Cutting processes (mechanical and power tools, oxy-fuel plasma arc, air carbon arc, electric arc)
• Performing quality control
• Following directions given in drawings, blueprints, and work orders

Qualifications

• High School Diploma + specialized training or 1 year college
• 5 – 7 years welding experience
• Fabrication skills (e.g. cutting, grinding etc.) essential
• Required Certificate—GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding Certification)
• Required Certificate—SMAW (Shield Metal Arc Welding Certification)
• Stick welding
• Required Certificate—FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding Certification)
• Required Certificate—GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Certification)
