About the role

Welders operate and monitor a variety of welding machinery and tools for production purposes. The ideal candidate will have one year of welding experience in GTAW and GMAW or equivalent education.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding and other equipment in qualified weld and fabrication areas (qualification based on ability, training, and experience).
• Pass performance tests as required by ASME Code Section IX (Welding and Brazing), ASME Code Section VIII Div1 (Unfired Pressure Vessels), ASME Code Section B31.3 (Process Piping), ASME Code Section B31.1 (Power Piping), and AWS D1.1 (Structural Welding).
• Weld components of products such as piping, pressure vessels, and structural components (skids) using MIG or TIG processes, as specified by blueprints, work orders, welding procedures, or travelers.
• Train to fit parts for various product lines if necessary.
• Understand paperwork procedures and MAPICS.
• Produce x-ray quality work regularly and consistently, or demonstrate above-average ability to fit all products.
• Weld a variety of metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, monel, and nickel-based alloys.
• Inspect, test, and evaluate all parts manufactured in the weld/fabrication area, performing quality-related analysis.
• Follow all procedures and specifications to ensure product conformance to quality standards.
• Comply with all safety procedures, including wearing protective clothing and handling chemicals and products safely.
• Interact and communicate effectively with employees at all levels, as well as suppliers, customers, and peers.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, standards, and rules.
• Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
• Demonstrate punctual, regular, and consistent attendance.
• Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• One year of welding experience in GTAW and GMAW or equivalent education.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.
• Ability to learn welding processes for various product lines.
• Ability to handle routine and non-routine projects under moderate supervision.
• Ability to read simple blueprints and technical specifications.

Physical and Technical Environment

• Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds using proper lifting techniques or equipment.
• Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, twist, climb, and reach with hands or arms.
• Specific vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards, requiring adherence to safety rules and standards.
• Overtime required periodically to meet project deadlines.
• Exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold on a regular basis.
• Clean and orderly manufacturing environment.
