What Will You Do?
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel pipes used in cryogenic systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding specifications.
- Ensure welds meet strict quality control and safety standards, particularly for cryogenic applications.
- Operate and maintain welding equipment, including torches, gas systems, and other related tools.
- Conduct pre-weld and post-weld inspections to ensure structural integrity and compliance with project requirements.
- Work collaboratively with team members to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during fabrication.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Your Physical Work Environment Will Require
- Fast-paced fabrication shop and on-site project settings.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, including cold environments associated with cryogenic systems.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring standing, bending, and working in confined spaces for extended periods.
Your Experience Should Be
- A minimum of 2 years of TIG welding experience, preferably in pipe welding with stainless steel.
- Ability to obtain and maintain TIG welding certifications (certifications encouraged).
- Strong understanding of welding processes, metallurgy, and the behavior of stainless steel in demanding applications.
- Proficiency with measuring instruments, such as calipers and micrometers, to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with cryogenic systems or high-precision piping assemblies.
- Familiarity with orbital welding equipment and techniques.
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards, such as ASME and AWS.
