About the Role
The Welder position will apply safe work practices and policies in the performance of all assigned tasks, welding and grinding steel and light gauge sheet metal materials including low carbon steel, stainless steel, zinc-coated carbon steel, and other commonly used alloy steels.
Responsibilities
- Work with associates to fabricate air and water pollution control systems under the direction of the Production Manager with a focus on safety, accuracy, compliance, and schedule.
- Prep and fit metal components (primarily carbon steel and stainless steel).
- Weld components into assemblies by supplied manufacturing drawings and bill of materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Modify and/or make minor assemblies.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Requirements
- Capable of reading and comprehending fabrication drawings and bill of materials.
- 1+ years of welding or fabrication experience.
- Ability to speak clearly and follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a group/team environment.
- Demonstrate welding proficiency for TIG and MIG processes on carbon steel and stainless steel. (Qualified candidates will need to perform weld coupons as part of the interview process.)
- Ability to certify in AWS and ASME.
- Working knowledge of typical metal shop tools and machinery including but not limited to: grinder, drill, band saw, lathe, shear, press brake, etc.
- Capable of lifting equipment up to 75 lbs.
- Forklift operation experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.

- Concentrated mental and/or visual attention for sustained periods.
- Performing complex tasks to very close accuracy and quality specifications, or a high degree of hand and eye coordination.
- Compliance with company attendance standards.
- Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- May be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel.

Pay
Pay Range: USD $28.00/Hr. - USD $38.00/Hr.
