Welder

About the role

Work in coordination with the Manager and other coworkers to ensure that all jobs are welded to the specifications of each job and meet outlined requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment using safe work habits.
• Inspect welds and work pieces to meet specified standards.
• Measure work pieces with straight edges, tape measure, scale, or templates to ensure proper fit.
• Weld steel, stainless steel, aluminum, invar, or other specified alloys per qualifications and applicable WPS, using GMAW and GTAW.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, brace, grind, or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Lift or move materials and finished products using overhead cranes or hi-lo.
• Read drawings and weld symbols.
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED, certificate in Machine Tool Technology, or equivalent work experience.

Physical Demands

• Frequently stand, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and work from ladders or scaffolds; occasional sitting.
• Regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Close vision required.

Work Environment

• Regular exposure to electrical shock hazards and moving mechanical parts.
