Essential Functions
- Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and rulers.
- Tack-welds or welds components, assemblies, molds, or equipment, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment (MIG, TIG, ARC, and oxyacetylene).
- Cuts using torch, power saws, hand shears, grinders, or chipping knives.
- Uses a variety of and tools, machines, and welding equipment to repair and fabricate items of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Removes rough spots from parts using grinders, hand files or scrapers.
- Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.
- Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
- Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
- Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
- Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
- Welds and repairs shafts, cams, molds, baskets, studs, grating, pipe, metals and other equipment and facility items.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including design, uses repairs, maintenance.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles with blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Knowledge of metals, methods, tools, equipment, materials, safety protocol, and efficient operating practices used in TIG, MIG, ARC, and oxyacetylene welding.
- Knowledge of using hand tools such as drills, grinders, benders, and shears.
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques and welding of piping.
Education & Experience
- Must have a welders certificate, from an accredited program.
- Must have 5-7 years of experience preferred.

- Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.
