Summary
Weld various parts from materials consisting of mild steel, stainless steel, galvanized, or aluminum.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Place machined parts into the appropriate welding fixture.
- Weld inside the welding booth.
- Use appropriate air filtration systems and position them accurately when welding outside the booth to contain welding smoke.
- Operate various welding machines including Miller pulse welders, Lincoln mig welders, Lincoln tig welders, Fronius welder, AccuPress break presses, Hydamech Bandsaw, and hand/power tools like hammers and grinders.
- Keep the work area and building clean and organized.
- Implement improvements and support the Metal Fabrication department in non-welding duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write, and understand simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Basic math skills including calculations such as discounts, interest, and proportions.
- Common sense and problem-solving skills to handle standardized situations.
- Entry-level computer skills to use Microsoft Outlook and email.
- Physical ability to stand, use hands, reach, talk, and hear; occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
- Moderate noise levels in the work environment.
